A Philosophical Rant...
I listen to the news on the radio and they were talking about the average Mali person making a dollar a day and how they have to save up money to get health care...
Then I talked to my boss who was talking about how much money people have...the oil barons in Dubai, Royalty and capitalists in America...
It makes me think about how wealth is distributed, I tend think in Marxist ways when it comes to money because I do think there are two levels those who make a lot of money and those who don't...
In interpretation of Marx I think he really wanted even everything out. Distribute the wealth evenly through everywhere...it didn't really work for Russia or Cuba...which makes me think that the power has to go somewhere...with those two it was the government...
It also seems people enjoy wealth and others enjoy(or give up) trying to attain it...

Most humans want nice things, or at least want more than just basic necessities, which is the human flaw of communism. You cannot distribute everything equally. Some people are naturally harder workers than others, while some are just fine getting by.
I think the best thing about the US, is that there really is the opportunity to become wealthy, or at least financially secure, for most people. Of course, there is a bit of luck involved, but working your ass off and getting an education (which is open to everyone, with all kinds of financial help) really does take you places here.
and if all else fails, whoo..there are credit cards.. yah for neiman marcus letting me rent to own my new prada bag!
I visited a kibbutz when I was in Israel and it was fascinating. I think it works so because they've been doing it so long now. Perhaps socialism needs some sort of spiritual accountability for it to work.
