  • A Philosophical Rant...part 2

Sahel's comment make me think about the American ideal "If you work hard enough then you will achieve it"...but not everyone can achieve(monetarily speaking) statistically. I have seen plenty of Hispanics in the landscape industry breaking their back making minimum wage and enough to get by...they work hard...you could argue as much as a dude on Wall Street...but I am not going down this road today because you get into valuing professions etc.

Writing this is making feel like I am being pessimistic which is not what I am trying to do. Being born into money, having college paid for and always having support...since coming out to the east coast I have had no money has changed me.

I guess I feel lucky or blessed that I have the opportunity to move freely...to "pick" what I want to do in life, even though it seems sometimes like it is choosing me...

  • I know what you mean.. its important to realize how much choice we really have eventhough often we feel so tied down or restricted by the man.. or what not.

  • I agree with you about the guys in landscaping, they have certain things working against them.. usually language skills.. but their kids will have tons of opportunities if they just seize them. There is not a single student in this country that would be shut out of college because of inability to pay.

I had nothing given to me in this life, I have been held back by my family.. all the odds were against me.. all I had were my looks! haha.
