  • Mourning

    Why is everything so keen on living?
    We shelter in caves-houses-ponds
    What is the other option?
    Apparently it isn't a good one
    All these other animals-insects-creatures
    That do the same
    We shelter against and hold on
    We get lonely
    When what matters is no longer
    And then we find something else
    We adapt

  • I prefer adapting to dying. My question is why do all the people/creatures/loved ones insist on exiting our lives when we need them most?

  •          Our ability to adapt is a blessing and, sometimes, a curse. We hang on to "out dated" relationships and ideas and behaviors long after they are appropriate - or useful. We are a tenacious bunch, for sure, N E LS O N. Yes we are.

  • I thinking along those lines today. I wrote:
    survival is hard, it is pain and struggle's father and child.
    survival is the reward and punishment

  • @jzrocker - Hey thanks for the rec...I am more interested in it being a 'reflex'...survival...it is a reward and punishment though...

    @SandraErickson - S A N D R A that is an interesting take...

    @murisopsis - Eh...coincidence I think...

    Why do animals insist on adapting rather than dying? That is my question.

    @IAmBishop - Woof?
