Looks like somehow the film was compromised in the loading, or is there a leak? Love the last 2!
You "secretly" bought a camera? You have a serious addiction.
I've been thinking about digging out my old camera and shooting a roll of film.
@slmret - What I can't figure out is the ones that did come out alright...which there weren't many...
That's the first time I've seen U-shaped interference on photos like that. What kind of shutter does it have? Prolly should get that looked at by a camera guy.
The big red cinder block photo looks like you were shooting with @plantinthewindow.
@HereLiesNelsontheGreat - Were they the last ones you took -- perhaps the roll of film began to unroll as it was loaded, but the inside stayed intact? Or maybe the outside edge of the cannister was compromised (dropped, pried open with the previous roll, etc?), but you loaded it quickly and the inside part didn't see the light?
A mystery... And you do realize that you have a problem with camera acquisition. Do you need an intervention??
@slmret - It could be the unrolling of the film, it would make that particular shape and I didn't really entirely pay attention to keeping it tight when I loaded it...
@Roadkill_Spatula - John and I have similar tastes when it comes to forgotten things...I am jealous of his houses...
@murisopsis - I do need an intervention, on a number of levels...
@HereLiesNelsontheGreat - If we're talking about the 15 year old camera, it's a Minolta Freedom Zoom 150. If we're talking about the 25 year old camera, it's a Nikon N4004. I have two lenses for it. Seems like there was a problem with focusing, but it may have only been the auto focus that was broken. I probably switched to the Minolta because it weighed less than ten pounds and fit in my purse. It was all so long ago.
@HereLiesNelsontheGreat - Actually, now that I'm playing with the Nikon, it appears I can't manually focus. I think it was the auto-focus motor that went bad. It's a beginner camera, but I loved it.
Ha! I was putting the cameras back in my old, gigantic camera bag and found three rolls of film. I'll have to get a battery for the Minolta and see if film expires.
@saintvi - That Nikon fetches 25 bucks new on ebay...fyi...and the Freedom Zoom looks like a point and shoot...I can't believe that is 15 years old...
@HereLiesNelsontheGreat - I'm guessing on the age of the Minolta, but it came out in 1995, so it could be 17 years old. Only $25 for a new Nikon? I was thinking about taking mine to a camera shop, but it'd probably be cheaper to buy a new one for that price.
I love film and miss the anticipation of getting prints! I may get my old Nikkormat out.
Looks like a ghost. You need to have that camera exorcised.
