Benjamin Franklin
You know it used to be different
Not that I actually know
We used to have one ideal and thing were pretty
straight forward
We were pragmatic and most information traveled slowly
Everyone's opinions weren't important
There was an unsorted Eisenhower mass
Mass
Political parties were
well
pretty much the same
All this nostalgia I don't haveWe have no idea what we are doing
We don't seek to understand
We say we do
But understanding requires some submission
And the stakes raise with emotion
Because we might lose it
The nostalgia we don't have'They who can give up essential liberty
to obtain a little temporary safety
deserve neither liberty nor safety'
-Benjamin Franklin

I can lend you some of my nostalgia. Old Ben Franklin was one smart cookie.
and the National bird therefore aught to be the Turkey; don't you think it would fit us better? Good stuff.
Was the Eisenhower Mass Latin or English?
Can you imagine elections back when you got news several days or weeks later, and only got to see woodcut images of the candidates? Words were an art back then.
One of my all time favorite quotes, NELSO N. Well done.

Thanks for those memories of old times.
"Everyone's opinons weren't important". Sigh. Wish people still believed that and believed in themselves.
